Discussing Antique Car Storage And What To Do

By Virginia Collins

It does not have to so complicated and complex. Though, there are some tips to remember and notes to take about this. Just because all you have to do is keep a very old vehicle, does not mean it is actually as easy as that. Admittedly though, this is a very effective way of protecting your investment. So we are going to discuss the best way of doing that. This article talks about Antique Car Storage.

Trying to invest in a long term or seasonal car storage is a very affordable method to protect the automobile labor once you know how to the right way about it. It does not count when you are just going to store it away and then leave it alone. Those older type of cars needs to be on the road sometimes too.

We see you stuffing it up with a premium kind of gas. And keeping it full too. What is that you are adding in? Fuel Stabilizer? Why? To stop excess moisture. Good thinking. We do not want this automobile to rust as we store it. That would just suck. And this car is a beauty too. It would be a shame to let it do its rusting.

Then comes in the cleaning and refining the details. Whether it should be necessary or not, it does not matter. It stops and prevents any pests from touching your new vehicle. Waxing the exterior is also a nice point. Make something beautiful even more stunning. Grandpa would be proud.

When you are done washing it, prep it even more by adding a box of some baking soda to its interior so it will absorb the smells. Block anything that can get pests to enter it too. To prevent any of your doors from jamming up, lube them and their hinges. Clean those tires as well. Do not use plastic to cover the car, use one breathable cloth cover.

Stuff the tires with as much air as possible. Make sure you do that before putting the vehicle away to avoid having to replace the tires. Those can get very expensive to buy if it comes to that. Then raise it up using jack stands to stop them from flattening.

A little tip. Try placing wood under those wheels. Why? They help block the ground rot that sometimes happen to tires when it is being stored in a place that is of stone and dirt. Wood will protect them and will stop that from damaging the tires of your Chevrolet.

If you plan to start your vehicle once in a while, get trickle charger or battery tender. It keeps it functioning over long periods of its time in keeping. Though, this will only work if you have some sort of power source where you will be putting it.

Once done, put your car somewhere dry, dark and clean. Do not do it on an old barn, that can damage all your cleaning and will definitely rot something there. The light can also be damaging it too.
