One Should Know This About Pile Driver Sales

A pile driver is a mechanical device used to drive piles into the soil. Piles are a type of foundation used in unstable soils to offer stability to buildings. Piles can be made up of timber poles, steel and even concrete. The piles are then driven deep into the soil till they reach the bedrock in order for them to provide stability. This is what one should know concerning pile driver sales.

It was in the industrial revolution that the invention of the equipment happened. The industrial revolution was characterized by a number changes including mechanization and discovery of new materials for construction and methods of construction. It was around the 1475 that the mechanically sound drawing pile first appeared, this was followed by steam drivers which gained a lot of popularity that it spread worldwide. It is not clear who came up with the invention but some believe it was invented in Scotland by Loch Tay.

Pile drivers exist in many different types. Those used in ancient eras were to heavy that they were operated using animals. They consisted of huge pulleys that dropped heavy weights on one end of piles. The piles would in turn be driven underground. In modern times, various methods have been invented for lifting the weights and guiding piles.

These methods include the use of diesel hammer. These drivers consist of a very big 2-stroke diesel engine. The weight which is usually piston is attached on to the driver and it connects to the top cylinder that is placed at the top of the piles. The driving is started by having the weight raised through auxiliary means.

Usually, this is a cable that holds the driver and runs from the crane. Air is drawn into the cylinder by the driver, and in turn, diesel fuel gets injected into cylinder. Quick release is then used to drop the weight on the piles. The weight exerted by the piston is enough to compress the mixture of fuel and air to the ignition point of diesel.

The power generated by the falling weight is transferred to the head of the pile as the mixture burns driving the head underground. This process is repeated until the piles are driven completely in the underground. For manual drivers the piston is raised until the trip releases piston automatically allowing it fall by gravity. The falling of the piston triggers the fuel pump making it release a metered quantity fuel pump.

The activation of pump gets a metered amount of fuel discharged into the ball pan of impact block. Exhaust ports are blocked by the falling piston, leading to the start of compression of trapped fuel in the cylinders. Compressed air exerts pre-load force that holds the impact block strongly against the piles and drive caps.

Piston will then strike onto the impact block causing atomization of fuel and beginning the weighty piles on a downward movement. The strike of the piston ignites the fuel resulting to an explosion that exerts an even bigger force on the pile that is already moving down. This drives it further downwards into the ground.
